Our circumstances have very little to do with our happiness. Happiness is something that we control. Happiness is the product of our habits and our outlook on life. Happiness is synthetic—meaning that it something that we can create in our lives and we can create it in whatever quantity we choose.
When we set up our own rules so that they easily allow us to experience more happiness more often, we will then be able to live that way. Experiencing more happiness isn’t only good for our performance at work and in daily life—it’s also good for our health and overall well-being.
